What You'll Learn
- How to navigate the Automation Settings page
- The three setting groups: AI & Context Management, Data & Recording Management, Integrations & Automation
- How to customize your note toolbar
- How the AI Template Optimization Agent works
The Automation Settings Page
The Automation Settings page is your control center for customizing how DeepCura's AI and automation features behave. Navigate to it from the left sidebar under "Automations." The page is organized into clearly labeled sections with toggle switches for each setting.
AI & Context Management
This section controls how the AI engine handles context and tasks during your clinical sessions:
- Manual AI Context Manager — When enabled, disables automatic opening of the AI Context Manager panel. You need to open it manually when you want to add context to your notes.
- Append last visit or AI-Nurse intake as context — When turned on, DeepCura passes your previous encounter on the current patient thread or the AI Nurse copilot-generated intake as context to the AI engine. This helps produce more continuity-aware notes.
- Supervise AI Task Agent — When ON, you preview every task the AI creates and can tweak the wording before it is finalized. When OFF, the AI adds tasks automatically without prompting you.
- Notify when note is complete — Plays a notification sound when note generation completes successfully, so you do not need to watch the screen while waiting.
Data & Recording Management
This section controls how recordings and data are handled:
- Store audio recordings as backups — When enabled, clicking "Complete session" stores the patient's audio recording permanently in the encounter. Note: this setting cannot be enabled simultaneously with Enhanced Transcription Quality.
- Copy with rich formatting — When enabled, copies content with Markdown styling. When disabled, copies plain text only.
- Disable recording audio disclaimer — Disables the automated audio disclaimer that plays before each recording. Requires signing a legal attestation that acknowledges your responsibility for obtaining patient consent.
Integrations & Automation
- Auto-create note and auto-fill demographics — When a patient fills a form on your scheduler, DeepCura automatically creates a note with demographics filled. This is always enabled.
- AI Gridhooks — Integrate with Google Spreadsheets or third-party systems by sending structured data from your recordings. When enabled, the Gridhooks configuration panel appears below the settings section.
Note Toolbar Customization
Below the main settings groups, you find the Note Toolbar Customization section. This lets you choose which action icons appear in the note toolbar. You can toggle visibility for eight toolbar actions:
| Icon | Description |
|---|---|
| Copy to Clipboard | Copy note content to clipboard |
| PDF Generation | Generate PDF and e-signature |
| Gmail Integration | Draft emails and download PDFs via Gmail |
| EHR Upload | Upload notes to your connected EHR |
| Fax Service | E-sign and fax encrypted PDFs |
| Edit History | View note edit history |
| Note Merging | Merge with previous note |
| EHR Agents | EHR agent integration actions |
Hidden icons do not appear in your note interface. This is useful for decluttering the toolbar to show only the actions you use regularly.
Quick Tips
- Start with the default settings and adjust as you discover your workflow preferences.
- If you work in a team, each provider can customize their own automation settings independently.
- The "Append last visit as context" setting is especially valuable for follow-up appointments where continuity matters.
