- How to print directly from the editor
- How to push notes to your EHR system
- How to send notes via fax and email
- How to configure which action icons appear in your toolbar
Printing from the Editor
The simplest way to get a hard copy is the Print button built into the editor toolbar. Click into your note text, open the toolbar's "More Rich" section (the three dots on the right), and click Print. This opens your browser's native print dialog, where you can print to paper or save as PDF.
The PDF & E-Signature Icon
In the action icon row above each generated note, the PDF icon generates a formatted PDF of your note and uploads it securely to the server. During this process, you see a loading modal with the message "Uploading Note to the Server — Securely transferring your note."
This feature supports e-signatures: the generated PDF can include your digital signature, giving you a signed, exportable document ready for patient records or external sharing.
You can toggle the visibility of this icon from the Automations settings page under "Toolbar Icon Visibility."
How to Print a Note with Your E-Signature
Your account automatically attaches your configured e-signature to any PDF you generate. The steps below walk through the full flow:
Step 1: Generate Your Note
After generating a patient note, locate the list of action icons at the top of the note.
Step 2: Click the PDF / eSign Icon
Click the PDF icon to download a printable, e-signed PDF version of your note.
Step 3: Preview and Print
A formatted PDF opens with your e-signature embedded. Use your browser's print dialog to print to paper or save as a PDF file.
Your note is now professionally e-signed and ready to be shared or saved.
Pushing Notes to Your EHR
If you have connected an EHR system (Epic, Athena, your EHR, eClinicalWorks, Charm, AdvancedMD, or Tajemo), the EHR icon in the action bar lets you push the note directly into the patient's chart. The push workflow varies by EHR:
- Athena — select a patient and appointment, then push as a clinical document
- your EHR — select the appointment, and the note is pushed as a clinical note
- eClinicalWorks — select the patient from your eCW patient list, then push
- AdvancedMD — select the patient from your AdvancedMD patient list
EHR integration setup is covered in a dedicated module. If the EHR icon does not appear, either you have not connected an EHR yet or the icon is hidden in your Automations settings.
Sending via Fax
Click the Fax icon in the action bar to open the fax contact modal. Select or enter a fax number and send the note as a fax. DeepCura uses AI-powered fax with automatic summaries of incoming faxes.
Sending via Email
Click the Gmail icon in the action bar to send the note contents via email. This opens an email composition flow where you can specify the recipient.
Copy to Clipboard
Click the Copy icon to copy the entire note text to your clipboard. You can then paste it into any application — your EHR's web portal, a referral letter, an email, or a document editor.
Edit History
Click the History icon to view previous versions of this note. Every time you regenerate or voice-edit, the prior version is preserved. You can review what changed between versions.
Configuring Toolbar Icons
Not every provider needs every action icon. Go to the Automations page in your account settings. Under the "Toolbar Icon Visibility" section, you see toggle switches for each icon: Copy, PDF, Gmail, EHR, Fax, History, Merge, and Agents. Turn off any icons you do not use, and they disappear from the action bar across all your notes.
