🔊 Purpose of the Automated Recording Announcement
When initiating a recording session in DeepCura, an automated audio announcement is played to notify all parties that the conversation is being recorded. This announcement serves as a safeguard to ensure informed consent from all participants and to protect patient rights under applicable healthcare privacy regulations.
This notification is implemented to support legal and regulatory compliance when AI technology is utilized in clinical documentation workflows. Similar disclosure mechanisms have become an industry standard across AI-enabled healthcare platforms.
⚖️ Disabling the Announcement: Legal Requirements & Provider Obligations
DeepCura recognizes that certain providers may prefer to implement their own patient disclosure protocols. Accordingly, we provide the option to disable the automated announcement feature. However, exercising this option requires formal acknowledgment of significant legal responsibilities.
Providers who elect to disable this feature must review and execute a legal attestation that establishes the following obligations:
- Full responsibility for obtaining and documenting informed consent from all parties prior to initiating any recording
- Ensuring all participants are aware of and have consented to being recorded in accordance with applicable legal standards
- Compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws governing the recording of conversations, including one-party and two-party (all-party) consent requirements
- Maintenance of adequate records demonstrating proper consent, available for review in the event of dispute or regulatory inquiry
- Indemnification of DeepCura, its officers, directors, employees, agents, and affiliates from any claims, damages, or liabilities arising from the decision to disable the automated disclaimer
By executing the attestation, the provider acknowledges that DeepCura shall bear no liability whatsoever for any consequences arising from the disabling of the automated audio disclaimer, including legal claims, regulatory actions, or other damages. Providers retain the right to re-enable the automated announcement at any time.
🎚️ How to Disable the Recording Announcement
The option to disable the automated voice announcement is accessible within any patient file, located adjacent to the blue "Start Recording" button.
To complete the opt-out process, carefully review the complete legal attestation and execute the acknowledgment form by providing your digital signature.
✅ Configuration Complete
Upon completion of the attestation process, the automated announcement will be disabled for your account. Please note that all responsibilities for patient disclosure and regulatory compliance now rest with the provider.
