📍 Navigate to: Sidebar → Patients → select a patient → open the chart · Full UI Guide

Quick Phrases (also known as macros) let you save and reuse formatted sections of your clinical notes with just a few clicks. Quick Phrases help you chart faster and stay consistent across patient encounters. Below is a step-by-step guide to learn how to create and reuse your Quick Phrases.

💡 Step 1: Open a Patient Chart

From the sidebar, click Patients, then select the patient you want to work with. Open their chart to access the note editor.

✍️ Step 2: Highlight a Text Block You Want to Reuse

In the note editor, type or paste your own custom formatted text — such as a physical exam template your practice already uses — then highlight the block you want to save as a Quick Phrase. Some examples include:

  • A standard physical exam template
  • A pre-op checklist with specific instructions
  • A discharge summary with standard formatting
  • A block of coding-ready procedure notes
  • A common HPI layout for admissions
  • Patient education scripts (e.g., diabetes, asthma)

💾 Step 3: Save It as a Quick Phrase

With the text selected, click the floppy disk icon in the floating toolbar to save it. You'll be prompted to give your phrase a name.

✏️ Step 4: Reuse It in One Click

Whenever you want to use that saved phrase again, just click the note+pen icon or press Ctrl+M (Cmd+M on Mac) and select it from your saved list. It will be inserted with all formatting intact — no manual edits needed.

🎉 You've just made your documentation faster and more consistent
