Locate "EHR Integration settings" and select Athena

🏥 Step 3: Find your Practice & Department ID

Practice ID

You can easily find your Practice ID in the link when you sign in to Athena. It will be the first number appended to the URL in your browser, as shown here: 1959909445.

Pay close attention to each number. If you miss a single number, it will not work.

Department ID

To find your Department ID, navigate to Settings → Billing → Departments in your Athena account.

For example, if your provider works at a department named "6 Hills," the department ID will be 82, as shown below. You can also update this department ID in your Profile Settings at any time.

You must add the department ID where you store your patients. If you add the wrong department ID, you will not be able to see your appointments or patients.

âś… Step 4: Fill in IDs & Submit

Go back to DeepCura Profile Settings.

Fill in your Athena Practice ID and Department ID.

If you are the first person at your practice to set up DeepCura, leave the Practice Secret field blank — a unique secret will be generated for you automatically.

If a colleague at your practice has already connected DeepCura, ask them for the Practice Secret and enter it here. You can find it in their Settings → EHR Integration.

Click Save Integration Settings

🔑 Step 5: Share your Practice Secret with colleagues

After saving, you will see a Practice Secret displayed in your EHR settings. This secret ties your DeepCura account to your Athena practice.

To add more providers from your practice:

  1. Copy the Practice Secret from your settings (use the copy icon next to it).
  2. Share it securely with your colleague.
  3. They enter the same Practice ID, their Department ID, and the Practice Secret when setting up their own DeepCura account.

Keep this secret private. Only share it with colleagues at your practice who need access to DeepCura. You can rotate the secret at any time from your settings if needed — this will update it for everyone at your practice.

🎉 You’ve successfully completed your Athena integration with DeepCura!

Please note: Whenever you perform EHR summarization for a patient and push the notes to the EHR, Athena incurs a separate cost. Each action will cost 1 credit within DeepCura. It's important to understand that these charges are due to Athena's fees for patient summarization/Api usage and are not DeepCura's direct charges.
